Burberry launches Burberry Brit for men

It flies the flag for British style, so it is fitting that Burberry’s new line for men has been patriotically named “Burberry Brit”.
The collection solves the conundrum of stylish down-time dressing. Fail-safe, easy-to-wear pieces - chinos, leather jackets, cotton tees – in a muted palette of grey, navy and white are at its core, and the classic trench coat also makes an appearance, reworked in a shorter length.
More fashion-forward gents should head for the parka in bright cobalt, or the jumper in plum, raspberry and crimson, which riffs on the house’s signature check.

Henry Holland to use 'mugshots' on his range for Debenhams

Thirty six members of the public can have their mugshots featured in a one-off print, designed by Henry Holland for Debenhams, in a quirky, new competition.
Holland, 26, the young designer responsible for relaunching the ‘slogan T-shirt’, and the best friend of the New York-based, Mancunian cover girl and catwalk star, Agyness Deyn, who models in his shows, intends to use the winning three dozen faces as a graphic motif on a clutch-bag and scarf, in his high summer, H! by Henry Holland collection for the chain.
From today, (January 20th), Debenhams will be accepting photographic entries. Fans can enter the competition by uploading a shot of themselves to a group on the photographic social network, Flickr, or by emailing their mugshots to Debenhams before the end of January.
For full details of how to enter, visit the H! by Henry Holland page of the Debenhams blog – http://blog.debenhams.com/Henry/
The new ‘faces’ clutch and scarf will go on sale in 60 Debenhams stores nationwide, in July. It will be preceded, in March, by the launch of the full H! by Henry Holland collection, which is aimed at the 17-25 year old market, and priced between £5 and £60.
Debenhams’ collaboration with Holland is the latest in a long list of ‘designer marriages’, dating back to 1996 when the chain launched its first J by Jasper Conran collection. Designers working with Debenhams today include Betty Jackson, John Rocha, Matthew Williamson, Ben De Lisi, Pip Hackett, Pearce Fionda, Janet Reger, Melissa Odabash, Erickson Beamon and FrostFrench.

Bumbags are back

bumbag” never fails to elicit a snigger, and not just because it sounds so ridiculous. A favourite of socks-and-sandals-donning American tourists, this fashion relic has now been dredged from the archive of dubious taste and is the accessory for spring, thanks to Marc Jacobs. It appeared in his eponymous line as well as in his collection for Louis Vuitton (above) as a tasselled hip-hovering beast.

The labels to watch and the names to note this spring:
TAMBURLAINE After his stint as the head designer at Kenzo Homme in Paris, Tamburlaine Gurst now has his own collection of artisan clothing – duster coats, shirts and jackets, all stone-washed and over-dyed to give a lived-in look

Street Style Memory Game

We've sung the praises of old school card games for years, ready to pull them out at the smallest sign of a friendly gathering. Ready to battle for Old Maid's space in our collection is the Street Style Memory Game by BIS Publishers, a cute spin on street style books which trains our ability to match the pretty mugs of the sartorially advanced with their headless bottom halves. Truth be told, we're pretty sure we'll have these outfits memorized in a single session, but hey, even if it will never lay claim to Go Fish's place in our heart, at least we can put the pictures up on our walls for inspiration. Buy the set here for $19.37.
