From chip-shop to catwalk

A teenager from Essex has ditched his job in a fish and chip shop to work as a model for Italian fashion house Prada.
Alexander Beck had been earning £6-an-hour in a chippie while studying for his school exams.

But the 17-year-old was spotted in a Cambridge bookshop by a fashion scout last December and within a month Prada booked him to model their clothes on the catwalk at Milan Fashion Week.

He has since appeared for Dior, Louis Vuitton and Vogue and is being called one of Britian's most promising new faces.

Alexander, who is 6ft 2in tall, said he had never considered a career on the catwalk.
